Obviously, X was somewhat…nervous. Which meant a double for me: giving her a cool haircut (excitement) and also something to drink. or smoke (relief).

As it turned out, I did take her to great heights with a graduated back, shorts sides, versatile top that flips from one side to the other and a trimmed long asymmetric fringe. Surprisingly, there was no need for drinks or smokes anymore. That haircut restored her joy and made it all easy.

Can’t reveal her name as some of you know her (which means you already figured out who I’m talking about).

Anyhow, the point is that when I got home, X made me think about reversing actions so that we un- and re-install ourselves. People said it’s genius. I say it’s life.

First, let me give you a humble piece of advice. Don’t get so angry. It’s bad for your health. And how would the world continue to evolve in absence of your so informed theories on the intellectual inabilities of poor hairstylists around the world?

Second, I’m sorry to break this down to you, but if your nephew decided to go to Hairdressing school, there’s pretty much nothing you can do about it. Or maybe there is. You could threaten him to cut him off financially, or maybe you could make him go to Economics school or even better, tell him he will be repudiated and sent to “exile” to the countryside.

Third, he would be better at the countryside than by your side. Because you see, Dear Sir, if you decided to refrain your desires in life when you were young, it doesn’t mean the world has to do it also.

I know that Hairstyling doesn’t explain why water freezes, why the grass is green and why the sun is hot. Hairstyling is emotional, it’s subjective, it reaches the very core of the individual (sure, call it client if you want)–>self-perception.

That’s right, I heard your arguments.

And sir, Hairstyling may not be science. But it sure is art.

Just woke up, huh? It’s OK, one Saturday morning of redemption every now and then is just fine. Actually, I woke up a few hours ago with a genuine push to start working on my brand new Scissor&Soul Haircuts catalog, but didn’t. And when I say “start working”, I say design the haircuts. Because there are many details that still need to be checked. Such as finding the photographer.

Anyway, that’s not what I actually had in mind when I opened the New Post section. What I did have in mind was/ is the new born Summer Well festival near Bucharest.

Here I am, on August 13th, entering the premises at Domeniul Stirbei. It’s sunny but not too warm, it’s crowded but not hectic. It’s all cool and nice, and yet, a weird thought crosses my mind. I believe it’s because the whole thing has a somewhat Berlin vibe to it. Don’t get me wrong, I utterly and irreversibly L-O-V-E Berlin, but I don’t appreciate imitations.

Anyway, I’m walking around this immense green space in this great country of ours and, without my knowing, I get hooked onto the map of Stirbei. Not a difficult one, but I am not that skilled with maps. I’d like to make them, but not read them. Suddenly, I unleash myself from the Map Web and I lift my head and what do I see? A crowd of people. all laughing and vibrant and just having fun while anxiously waiting. I say to myself “This can’t be copied and pasted. It’s the real thing”. Great is my joy when I look around further more and see the cool haircuts. some loose on the back, some geometrically cut while others totally taken out of bed and towards Stirbei.

What I want to say here is “People, you take away and then you restore my faith in innovation. With great power comes great responsibility. Please don’t mess this up for me”.

I apologize for writing in English when I should/would use my mother tongue, the almighty Romanian. You see, I don’t have much time to spare but I do have English people following my activity, so I rest assured that you can all understand my words and please trust that I’m not denying my Romanian identity. In fact, I am a proud bearer.

Let me tell you why I’m back. No, don’t go, this will not get boring!

Today I figured something out. This blog of mine was the only virtual link to my friends abroad. Because, and this may come as a surprise, not everybody has Facebook accounts. Or tweeter. Or Google+. Of course they have emails, but a summary every now and then doesn’t offset the lack of daily update.

I feel bad about it. Because, Ana, Luciana, Sandra, Andreea, you’re all so far away. At least I can show you what I’ve been up to. It’s one thing I’m thankful for to the mighty World Wide Web. Yeah, you too Leon, although we didn’t get to know each other that well. How’s everything in New Zealand? Or London? I don’t know where you reside anymore…

Anyway, 1 year and 16 days have passed since my last post. More people have gone away, others came back, I moved to another city, the city treated me well and keeps doing it. Summers are hotter, winters are crueler, I have a new scissor now and high expectations.

But I think I said enough. Let me show you the rest.
